Creations

Here are some of my own creations.

Scripture Narration Bookmarks
Penny Gardner put together a collection of Bible Readings.  They are short enough for young children to be able to narrate them Charlotte Mason style.  I decided to put mine into bookmarks.  I would love to share these with you. Print them on regular 8.5 x 11 and then trim and fold them.  I then laminate them for durability.

Adult Skills Classes
Diann Jeppson, in The Thomas Jefferson Education Home Companion, speaks about what she calls Adult Skills Classes.  Here are my versions to get you going.  Feel free to customize them for your family.

Scholar Project
Moorhouse Academy and LEMI (Leadership Education Mentoring Institute) have developed scholar projects for youth.  Based on the Moorhouse Academy's formula, I developed one of my own.

Spelling Helps
Probably about 80% of children do not need formal spelling lessons if they engage in the reading of quality literature. They just pick it up as their exposure increases.  Then there are the rest of us.  Yes, I am one of those that still struggle with proper spelling despite all the reading and writing I do. For this notebook I consolidated spelling rules and techniques from several different sources.
Spelling Notebook  This is my "master copy" and I add to it when I find more words that fit the spelling rule.  The children can make their own notebook as the "rule of the week" is studied.
Words to be Sounded Out  The spelling Notebook refers to this list for beginning readers.
600 Most Used Words I print out a copy of these site words for my children's binders

 Flash Cards
Skip Counting Cards  We like Math U See's skip counting CD. The CD includes the score and words for the songs. But I also wanted a visual component too. So I made some Math U See style flash cards to go with it. I printed out several pages to a pages to the sheet, laminated, whole punched them and put them on a ring.
